• It is better to read many easy ideas where a lot of new words are greater than 10 % of the total number of unique words.

1) Read a new item fast once. Next, try to summarize out loud to yourself what the item mentioned.

2) Listen to the item and read along at the same time. Then, be certain that you can read faster than the audio file you are hearing. If you are not able, you may read the item again and go on practicing to try to improve your reading speed. Besides that, you may notice that most articles including news reports are read at approximately 140 words per minute. Meanwhile, conversations are around 160 words per minute and Dr. Laura is closer to 200 words per minute. You will also have to get your speed up to 200 words per minute or faster to really do effectively on TOEIC.

3) Choose a new idea and do the same again.

• You should read newspaper articles, magazine articles, or other handy material, including web sites, on subjects which attract your interest.

1) You are able to be certain that you are keen on the content.

2) You should not look up any words, and just read scanning and try to point out the meaning.

3) It is better to practice this daily and try to enjoy it. Moreover, you had not better look up any words in a dictionary!!

4) Try to summarize the meaning to yourself.

The objective is to enhance the ability to scan, and to guess at meaning.
